House Brews:
Hula Girl Pale Ale
Poi Dog Wheat
Shark Tooth Amber (J)
Big Kahuna Brown (B)
Brewer's Da Kine (seasonal - dry stout at present)

Located in Kahului's main shopping mall. Steakhouse type menu. Live music tonight.

Amber and brown ale - very very close to one another in color.

Brown ale: Almost no head. Light brown, almost coppery color. Aroma slightly flat, rather like head. Good body. Great malty flavor! Rides neatly between the coffee and the chocolate malts to balance the two in the mouth - a neat trick! A mild taste of hops in the finish. Just right! 8.9

Shark Tooth Amber: Almost no head. A coppery color which is just a shade lighter than the brown ale. The aroma is mildly hoppy with some malt aroma. This is a very precisely brewed beer. The taste is as consistent from first swallow to finish as any beer I've ever had. The taste is very complex - malty with some hops, and a nice tingle to boot. This is a beer which defies easy description. The best red amber I've ever had! 8.9

Have had a sip of each beer on the table - it's obvious they are from the same yeast family. They have an excellent geneology.

Unfortunately we learned that this is closing in 2 weeks. They are hoping the new owner will keep the same brewer here. BIG bummer!!
