Next to impossible to find this place! Directions said "Just past Exit #74A". What they mean is to take Exit 73!!

Basic pub fare menu. Very populated place this evening.

Porter: A mild head that disappeared quickly. A typical porter color - not opaque. Fairly roasty aroma. A bit hoppier than the average porter. Could use a tad more chocolate or malt flavor. A nice, drinkable finish. A good beer that is close to being excellent. 8.4

Brown Ale: Very little head. Looks & tastes more like a red ale than a brown ale. Aroma is mostly malty. Finish is mostly hoppy. The problem is the two don't blend in the mouth in the middle of a swallow as well as they should. Possibly due to a watery body? But it is pleasant all in all. Just needs more of a middle. 8.0

Oktoberfest: Large creamy head. Just a shade lighter than the brown ale. Faint malt aroma. More of a "add more hops" Oktoberfest than the Maerzen style (pity). Head has staying power. Well balanced beer. If I were a hop fanatic, this would likely be a well-loved beer. Similar to brown ale in that both begin malty and finish hoppy. Oktoberfest has better body and balance. 8.2 (would be higher if I loved hops).
