House brews:
Avenue Ale
Spooners Stout (B)
Something Red (J)
Honeygo Lite
Seasonal: Station Bitter

In a mall-type environment. Business is booming!

Stout: Fat, creamy head. Probably pumped through a nitrous pump. Almost black in color. Aroma is faintly malty - is hard to discern through the foam! Two sips and still only tasting the head. It is on the bitter side. As advertised, malt and hops are both in the flavor - seemingly the two flavors never meet. Initial taste is all malt - finish is all hops. Not much happens in the middle. A difinite bitter aftertaste, as in the English style. 7.7

Something Red: Pleasant hoppy aroma. A moderate head with some staying power. The initial taste is nicely balanced - the hops take over and mug the malt in the finish. On certain swallows the hops can leave an unpleasant aftertaste in the mouth. The beer definitely has a lot of flavor, but the balance is off. Also, body is a bit on the thin side (not badly). 8.0

A small disappointment: We were told of 5 available beers, then saw a sampler tray of 6. The waitress mentioned the "cask conditioned" ale - like the scotch ale mentioned in Barleycorn.
