Archives: Olde Towne Brewing 9/26/97

Olde Towne Brewing Co.
Gaithersburg, MD
Fri 9/26/97, 7pm

[brewpub under this name is closed - was also formerly known as Summit Station and currently - August 2010 - known as Growlers]

House Brews:
Blueberry Wheat (seasonal)
Logtowne Porter (J)
Cal's Black & Orange
Hardings IPA
Forest Oak Amber (B)
Gaithersburg Golden

Logtowne Porter: A nice dark porter color. A little hoppier than some porters. I'd like more of a chocolate taste. The hops dominate the finish. For this pub, it's one of the better choices. 8.0

Forest Oak Amber: Lovely clear color. Wish my hair were this color. Aroma: heavy on the malt - almost a malt vinegar aroma, not that pleasant. Good long-lasting head. Strong bitter flavor, but not unpleasantly so. A good finish. A pretty solid choice here as a general rule. 7.8
